We had a very full day today! We started our morning at the Museum of Science and Industry. They had some very awesome interactive exhibits. One dropped virtual "sand" and you tried to use your body to catch all the grains of sand. Another was a light piano. The kids stepped on the different colors and it made different piano notes. Then they had some decorated rooms for "I spy".

We decided to head to the space section next because we knew our movie was going to be at 10:30. We chose "Passport to the Universe" narrated by Tom Hanks. It was in a big dome theater and sure made me feel very small in our huge universe. In the space area we learned about the different Apollo missions and the boys "shot" some rockets.

We then went and saw the US-505 which is a German submarine. It cost to go into the submarine, so we didn't go in, but we walked around it and the boys did a game to practice being the submarine driver. We then made our way to the other side of the building to the farming section, a fairy tale castle, race cars and ships.

After eating some lunch we headed to my favorite section- the Storm Science. There were so many components to this section learning all about the different natural disasters- tornados, tsunamis, lightning, etc. It was all incredibly interactive- we changed variables for avalanches, made our own tornado, played with air pressure and Thom's favorite- worked with angle and speed to project tennis balls across the exhibit.

Other sections of the museum included an "old time" Main Street, YOU- showing all different parts of your body including fetuses, blood vessels, brain, etc., A mirrored maze- which the boys thought was neat- it was just like in Spidey and His Amazing Friends, and a huge toy train.

We knew we wanted to go to the Adler Planetarium too so we kept it moving at the Science and Industry Museum and took a taxi (with a wild driver!) to the planetarium. We arrived a little before it opened so we took a walk around the planetarium along the lake.  With our City Pass we got two movies. We chose on on the moon and one on the universe. I learned that due to the lack of wind, the first footprints are still on the moon. The boys liked playing in the "kids" area and used a rocket simulator. There were some cool photo ops as an astronaut.

We decided to take an uber to Chic-fil-a for dinner before walking back to the hotel. We watched a little Jurassic World and then headed to bed. The boys are being such troopers with all the walking we are doing! I was worried about not having a stroller with Rocky, but they are both doing fantastic!
